(1)No vaccine manufacturer shall be liable in a civil action for damages arising from a vaccine-related injury or death associated with the administration of a vaccine after October 1, 1988, if the injury or death resulted from side effects that were unavoidable even though the vaccine was properly prepared and was accompanied by proper directions and warnings.

Many covid deaths are due to exaggerated immune response, not lack of a strong enough immune response.

Additionally, it's not just about you. Widespread vaccinations protect those in society who are most vulnerable by decreasing aggregate rates of infection. No, not just fatties and smokers, but people with genetic disorders and innocent 80 y/o grannies who never did anything except get old. You may be fine, and in fact be completely asymptomatic, which means you're going to walk around spreading it to everyone else, including granny who is just trying to go to the store to get food.

It will be interesting to see how this vaccination process plays out. Will our society be split into castes based upon whether or not we have the shots? My thought experiments keep taking me to a future in which establishments refuse to service people who don’t have their “immunization passport” up to date. COVID has certainly set the stage for many years of strange conversations.
