(to be honest i agree with him on gender politics all the way im pretty sure >_> i'm not a huge nonbinary advocate, being a biologist who recognizes the binary of sex hormones / developmental paths / resulting consciousness flavors. but why is it all his fans seem to be so mean to me about transition stuff? there's an uglier something in the JP gumbo besides his explicit speech, methinks)

The reason ppl listen to Peterson is because he is schooled in the grains of truth that exist in the arts and crafts of psychology. Just enough to seem erudite at a glance.

When two extremely divergent and asynchronous approaches occasionally line up an cross over. That is a sign of significance.

Peterson is in denial and suppressing something with those benzos. I take em for public safety and to cope self harm personally.

I know for a fact that u got to be actively harming to need / want serious sedatives.

The man is making a living. Don’t hate him for it. He has addictions and possible mental illness, again don’t hate him for it.

The sad part is, you don’t like it when people judge your abilities unfairly because you are trans, yet you judge this man unfairly because he has his own struggles.

listen I've had my own 2 year vacation to get off methadone too. I just find his lying about it to be a little gross. If I were to believe the lie (that he was unaware of the danger of benzos) then he is completely unqualified to talk psych. But obviously, he's not tellin the truth. Honesty'd work better, like what I just showed you. Instead of owning it he adds to the sum of addiction-shunning with his ashamed silly lying, which I think is a window into his character. It's not the end of the world (he's obviously still in PAWS and very very anxious and psychologically not whole), but it's a little discrediting. Whatever wisdom he might have to speak, he isn't living it yet and this matters, no?

And don't be so fragile about it, I'm being glib cuz he's a public figure. I am very polite to people's faces, and try to respect their struggles and stuff. I probably wouldn't bring it up whatsoever except to commisserate if he were in the room, cause I know it's a death struggle and every minute for him is very hard right now, AND I know what it's like to survive a death struggle or 3. Unlike "my detractors" who chase me around shouting tranny!! with the aim of harming me.

I feel like you have a personal vendetta against JP because he refused to call people by their preferred pronouns. Even though he did publicly admit that he probably would do it, he just didn’t like the Canadian government passing a law that forced him to do so.

He’s a lot smarter, or has a lot more common sense than a lot of his naysayers give him credit for.
