It seemed more implausible to me that SWC was stealth added way out of era as an ultra rare drop for no reason vs it being in the loot table in-era with the revamp from the beginning.

The argument against it is that it doesn't make sense, but this is classic everquest. Nothing is balanced. Nothing makes sense. If I described 60 shamans to a non EQ player they would also assume implausible and not add to game.
