I don't think so. I think you're misinterpreting the point I'm making.

In a normal world, the headlines would read like this:

"The UK has the highest deaths per capita, don't do what they did!"
"Don't emulate Spain!"
"Italy is suffering, don't let it happen here!"
"The Belgian covid disaster, what happened and how we can make sure it doesn't repeat in the US!"

That's in an ideal normal world, where media organizations don't do the bidding of their political masters.

My point, just to be explicit, is that information is being manipulated to serve political ends to such a degree that we're approaching Goebbels, which is the second rung right underneath Stalin.

Please note that New York and New Jersey have over THREE TIMES the per capita rate that Sweden has and all three places took the greatest hit in the same place; the aged in the nursing homes.

How about those headlines? I mean beyond helpful and also totally accurate. I need a link though cause these exist only in my head atm.

In the interest of not being misinterpreted further I'm not denying covid is a threat, not suggesting simple quarantine measures are ineffective, not suggesting anything to do with the efficacy of any countermeasures.

My point is that like any crisis, this one has been co-opted by people with an agenda. Unfortunately these people control vast swaths of the media, which is why people are given giant loads of bullshit in order to make them compliant and scared in order to achieve a very visible political end, which is the election of a Democrat regime in November.

Again, this is simply statistical malpractice. We are testing sick people. Because of the sample bias, we cannot generalize. If I tested people in a hospital I could easily 'prove' statistically that blonde people have a 35% chance of cancer. Now, if after reading about COVID if you think 'I don't need to see a tiger kill 10 people and develop statistical confidence' that's fine. Just be aware that you cannot rationally claim that the person next to you who is saying 'Sorry, I don't believe your dance caused that thunderstorm' is unscientific or unethical.

Also, these videos by Ryan Long are straight up hilarious: Defined by Trump and Woke/Racist and Selling footage to both CNN and Fox. Sadly I went full black pill after Trump enthusiastically campaigned for a COVID bailout that went almost entirely to the 1% (RIP Trump Keeps Winning), and now I think the most important thing to realize is that the vast majority of people live in an outrage bubble that has been carefully generated to keep us under control. Your neighbor is not the primary source of evil in your life. The system is. And you don't fix it by aggressively tearing it down, you fix it by passively opting out: stop watching the news, grow your own food, homeschool your kids, etc. Satyagraha for the modern world.

Question for the "wear a mask" people. Now that this virus has killed 148k people in the country things are looking pretty grim. Why haven't you jumped on the bandwagon yet about what people could do about the biggest killers in our country? Cancer has been killing over half a million a year every year for a really long time. Heart disease beats cancer out. Even for people that go into remission from cancer there are some pretty nasty long term effects.
