The thing I'm curious about is how do folks sell powerleveling if you can't two box? Is the other player supposed to be online while you slay whatever for them or..?

Basically yes. They do all the pulling and most of the killing...usually you'll have a damage shield on you which does most of the damage itself, as long as you're getting 1 damage (or 1 AOE spell) to land on everything that's hitting you... you'll get the exp.
Crucially yes, you need to be online for the hour (or however long you buy). Personally I think that takes away from the challenge of the grind, but I'm only me and not everyone else
