A few questions:

I know there is the transparent helm patch: How the heck do you set transparencies? Maybe I'm saving it under the wrong bit depth? I thought magic pink was all you needed to put into the file but it won't work for me. Am I missing anything?
Transparency for items is Pink. You'll probably see the same pink color in other BMP files. Use Adobe's Ink Dropper to copy the color, then paint it on the visor of the helm [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Pink is not ALWAYS the Transparency color; for instance, some zone related objects use specific shades that are defined in their object model (I assume). Trees are a good example of this; some of them have different transparency colors.

If you want help on your particular project I might be so inclined as to help with some textures but I'm horrible at using photoshop. I've mainly been using filters which has created some interesting effects including shiny plate armor, but I don't think that's something you intend to change. Let me know, though!

...

When you are done sprucing up the files do you drop the file size down again or do you leave it as 4x the dimensions? That can get large very quickly.
All help is welcome! Let me know what particular thing draws your interest, and then get crackin on it. Once your done, please send me the source files and I'll incorporate them in the next release. (plus give you credits!!)

Once this project is complete, I intend to open source ALL of it. Maybe someone feels they can add even more details, or wants to change certain things, they are welcome to do it. This is a community project, so therefore it should be open to the community also.

All textures are going to be released in full 4x resolution. Once the final release is made I will make a 2x res version available also. The completed 4x texture file will be about 50MBs I estimate. That's many times the size of the original, but it will only slow your initial login by a few seconds at most. The global texture files are only loaded once IIRC.

The first release is approaching fast. I decided to make the first release just human males and cloaks, so I only have 2.6 cloaks left to do! Maybe by this time next week it will be out. I must say the cloaks are really turning out awesome! The increased detail that 4x resolution textures allow really makes them shine. Even the much hated blue cloak (nipple guards and all) looks considerably better!
