War with Iran

Invading Iran is going to be Vietnam 2: Clusterfuck Boogaloo, only even worse. That country is a miserable shithole of some of the worst terrain on earth, with a large fraction of its populace indoctrinated religious zealots and with 40+ years to prepare for a moment of invasion that they knew was coming while watching their neighbors undergo the same thing - and how to make it as difficult as possible.

This will be a nightmare beyond your imagination if we actually invade. And you're not going to pry them out of those mountains without doing that. Best case scenario is we blow some stuff up, declare victory, then fuck off. But even then, that's not really going to change anything.

Nevermind that we're the ones responsible for all of this in the first place, considering we overthrew their actual democratic government to institute the Shah, who directly spawned the current shithole.
