The point of green is having fun. Not everyone will have fun on green. Some people will have fun on green. That is all.

The first 3 days I spent grouping from 1-12, first in freeport and then on a hill next to orc 1. We had to learn the griffin pathing.

From atop our little hill we watched orc1 get wiped out to griffins multiple times.

It was so dark as a human, I got lost multiple times in EC, a zone I'd been in a thousand times before.

The population density was so high (at that level), completely new group metas etc were forming.

People were getting upgrades left and right from the mobs we were killing. Cloth armor? Upgrade! Giant Snake Fang? Upgrade!

It was amazing.

Green launch was a once-in-a-lifetime neckbeard event. The newbie zones haven't felt that alive since the original EverQuest launch, and leveling up in zones that are ghost towns on Blue was a lot of fun. Then Brad McQuaid died and playing on a freshly launched Vanilla EverQuest server felt like the best way to celebrate his life. I feel bad for anyone who missed it.
