I dont know about merchants, but you can use banks like in Freeport by just being behind the wall.

As long as the banker isn't in line of sight, he can't know you're there... so you can bank freely <3

As for vendors, make pals with the druid ring vendors in WC/Butcher/Steamfont/Tox/etc...and assuming you have a safe city somewhere (Neriak/Akanon?) you can always get food/water/gems for spells that way.

If you want to vendor in FP, just go to sewers through invisible tunnel in newbie yard. Generally safe and easy to get to as long as you don’t fall into the water with the drowned citizens. Also spell vendors and Necro trainer down there. They love darkies 😁

If you're talking about a DE necro using Freeport merchants & Banker, the Janam & Rebby note passing quest will give you what you want with about 18 total quest runs to them and back. This will not take care of your being KoS to the North Freeport guards, but you get gather shadows at 8 so walking into the bank and sitting behind them, LoS blocked from the one guard in the room, is doable.
