You do less damage bare-handed. Thankfully Kunark allows for better opportunities than your fist.

Being a Human monk is kind of a pride thing. Also, he looks like Bonham so that's a plus.

Don't forget the xp penalty iksar have. But for me Iksar are the best race ingame. But I think this is more a personal choice. They might have a lot of disadvantages but you ll benefit of regeneration/ac even with max level. Had an iksar monk myself on live.. fungi+iksar regen was fun, haha.

lvl 60 Regen Rate (Human): 7 sitting, 5 FD, 4 standing
lvl 60 Regen Rate (Iksar): 18 sitting, 14 FD, 12 standing

If this is your first character on the server you ll have to stick to kunark, because a monk without WR bag and 10 FS weapons + 500 coins needs a bank from time to time.. Or you place a mule in ec and ask a friend to transfer some money/items to use him as a bank.

So it's like:
Iksar better Stats/ac/regen/kos/xp penalty vs. human gimp who uses Dragon Punch and levels faster + can bank in antonica and faydwer

There's no damage difference, just speed (I understand that you meant overall DPS, but i'm just sharpening what you said). The difference is very tiny, and the difference disappears once max haste is applied. Epic equalizes fists for both races anyhow.

Iksar is easily better in the end in nearly every way in terms of combat (DPS is equivalent in all cases except for bare fists, in which case the difference is small if not non-existent), but just remember that it takes far longer to level to 60, you have faction issues (although honestly I would rarely leave kunark as an iksar), etc...
