Normally I hate Youtube links but that one was fun. Surprisingly enough it reminded me a bit of an argument from Noam Chomsky's most recent video. He essentially make the same argument, only with a very different kind of thief (capitalists).

He argues that capitalists love regulations (ie. the walls being closed) because they know that they can soon game the regulations (ie. steal all the food). Once that happens not only do they have everything they want (ie. all the food) but as long as the walls staying closed (ie. if the regulations stick around after industry neuters them) they actually help protect the thieves' interest.

The capitalism described here is crony capitalism, where the big corporations and big government collude to push out competition by using the regulations referred to in your post. Big corporations have the legal and financial resources that the little guy doesn't have. This is why big government, with their oppressive regulations, have got to go. We need free market capitalism, not crony capitalism.

Philosophy is 1 thing. Real life has proven that capitalism has lifted people up for more than any other economic system. Certainly more so than anything the far left has presented.

That's not the free market at all.

Yeah... riiight. You think everyone in business is a Scrooge or a Mr. Potter from It's a Wonderful Life? Well, they're not. There are plenty of decent people in business. The problem is when big government gets involved.

As far as the police goes, I never said there should be no government at all, just limited government, especially at the federal level. The best government is at the local level... where the people can keep a better eye on it.
