You could try charming but you need to be so sharp with the recharm (I'm usually off by half a second each side guessing the moment it breaks).

You can't time it perfectly just based on your cast and the duration...you'd have to be watching the server tick, which means up to 6 seconds after the duration ends.

I usually roll the charm and restart it halfway thru if there hasn't been a break yet. I do this even on non-summoning mobs if fighting in tight areas or inside.

As for solo'ing the summoning mobs folks already mentioned the two best strats:

1. Snare/fear/dot kite. I once was able to do the named bug at NG in seb by pulling it into the water and fear kiting it...mostly to see I could. it worked, took forever and probably annoyed whoever was actually at NG.

2. Tank and spank. Mez the mob when you get low life and regen. Rinse and repeat the 10k times it will take you to do this. I believe I did this and number 1 in combination to kill the skyfire drake for his guts for bard epic...also a long and painful fight.

Charming would be risky. If you get a perfect recharm off you could possibly avoid both mobs beating you for one round, but its unlikely and even a few hits here and there would make doing this a roll of the RNG.

Remember that summoning mobs don't summon every round, so if you can keep selos up and have good gear and buffs you will be able to have a larger margin of error.

With the exception of the rare quest mob you want to kill on your own I wouldn't suggest making a habit of bard soloing higher lvl summoning mobs.
