That faux quote is true though. It absolutely is better for a child if it is in the custody of competent and capable custodians.

forcing people to choose between incompetently rearing and killing their offspring is immoral. shame and parent licensing are two methods of sparing them and their young.

I don’t think birth licensing is that fascist. Then again, I’m sure fascists don’t ever think they’re fascist. Melon is right though, my belief if the necessity of such a policy is based on my perception of our “social decay.” I also agree that shame, and religion as a compelling moral force, should make comebacks (within reason).

There are challenges in everything. Fortunately this is a familiar one, which we've invested quite a lot of time working out. I think most developed nations have implemented appropriate measures against religious excess. It's actually a good example of liberty by restraint. Liberty only ever is in bondage.
