it's a lot of fun. most of the people that post on the red forums don't actually play
People everywhere don't actually play this server. The only community left in emu eq pvp is on Rise of Zek with item loot, active GMs and actual progression.

Since some players left for RoZ, the server population is slightly smaller, but I have heard fewer trolls on OOC. My experience coming back has been fairly positive. People selling their items are fairly rare, and many of the items are expensive, so if you are new, prepare for a longer slog. Andain's guide is also helpful. However, when I have seen items I could afford (in the hundreds of PP instead of the thousands), I have ventured to NFP to get them. A few looked at my equipment and given me other small improvements.

I also joined Sanctuary after my fond memories of them the last time I played there, and have both been given and given away equipment. I have grouped with independent players and members of Savage with no issues, and in Mistmoore, there are sometimes powerleveling groups going.

But if you prefer soloing, there are vast empty or mostly empty zones to experience in and gain items. Hadden is usually up in QH, and the AC can pop with no one camping him. I have been teased for soloing, because there is an incredible grouping bonus. The lower level bonus accelerates those levels whether you are grouped or not.

I don't know much about the 50-60 game, but most of the PK seems to take place in those levels. Since i am enjoying the journey, I am in no rush to get there.

To put this in perspective, 4 people leaving red is 10-20% of the server leaving.

Kind of the definition of a dead pvp server man. Pretty sure the pvp at 60 is minimal as well. I mean it’s great server for people with no social skills and no pvp skills.

Forever alone
So... the 50 players in one guild are alone all the time isolated to their lonesomeness all alone? But they are all one guild... and there is global ooc so even if you aren't in the one guild you are in the server guild chat...

but we are loners? On the totally unified server? Vs the super selfish blue server where yall form a 2yr line for FTE raid mobs?

Tell me more.

Objectivity is a motherfucker. Perspective is a son of that bitch. Red99 is the bastard daddy. Blue is the lubed up pinky so you can learn the game safely and decide if you are ready for this D while you experiment with a finger or two.

You know deep down you always wanted a moustache ride from the Priest of Discord and a cool red name. Come get some! Come for the rumors, stay for the fun. R99 is a good everquest experience, the forums are not. Log in and play. The reality is far fewer players log onto the r99 forum than the r99 server, and these people commenting are far more mentally ill. The only time they log into the r99 server is to make idiotic troll accounts and spam the global ooc chat while the 40-50 cool players on the box laugh hysterically at what sociopaths the forum trolls are.

Other than that even the greatest rivals on the box will hang out and xp with one another from time to time despite pvp'ing one another during raids etc. That's just part of PVP. It isn't personal. If PVP is fun for you do it. If it isn't, stay off the forums and the box, they aren't for you!
