Welcome to p99! As a warrior, you'll eventually be almost "forced" to group so as to avoid long breaks in-between fights. This can be a good thing as p99 is the most fun when played with friends and comrades.
Your situation is no different than my cleric-- while's he's awful at mashing stuff with his mace, he shines when paired up with a melee class (like a warrior). Certain classes are simply stronger in groups vs solo. Another example of this would be a rogue-- a rogue can put out insane DPS... as long as they're grouped with someone that can maintain agro and keep the mob's back turned (to the rogue).
So, please don't be discouraged and give your warrior some time. Have fun and enjoy the journey!
