On a side note, is STR the main attribute that is looked at for skill ups when doing smithing like on live (not sure if it was originally like this or not). I've heard different things (like that it is Int for some classes).

So I thought I'd ask that here as it seemed like a good place, thanks [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] .

well tried it with a forging hammer and still didn't work, get same message 'can't be combined in this container type', hope I don't need a smithing hammer instead, that costs 10 plat and for a lowbie like me that isn't happening for awhile lol, not to mention that I don't want to buy the smithing one and still not be able to do it, would just be a waste of money for a low level.

the recipe is 2 small brick of ore and a water flask

no hammer needed

save these for later when you make them as you'll need them to make banded

p.s. make sure you're using the correct ore type. the small bricks needed to make sheet metal are heavy and can't be stacked

If a hammer is needed then it would in fact require a Smithing Hammer.

1) Make sure it's a forge using the 'experimental' window with nothing else sitting in it (could be hidden)
2) 2 small pieces of regular ore and 1 flask of water, nothing else, should yield 2 metal bits. No need for a hammer for those or for the sheet metal (the hammer is for folded sheet metal).
3) ???
4) If still failing, submit bug report in the forum. I've been able to do this before, so either it's a recent thing or you're going wrong somewhere.
