Whether they give them back to you or not if he in fact picked them up is another matter, but I'm pretty positive any item can be tracked from player to player.

Items, I believe, have hidden ID tags, your item may be:
Gauntlets of Fiery Might_2427

Which means they are the 2,427th pair that has ever dropped. If Cained is wearing this pair, he can't hide. Whether staff would out him or take action I don't know.

Pretty sure tags like that are used to track RMT, handle disputes, etc.

RMT and scamming don't pay kids, don't do it.

I want justice.

You have to petition OP and find out the truth.

Then make a RnF post about it.

I'm pretty sure this is correct

I'm 99% certain they wouldn't. Whether the guy lied about it or not, picking something up off the ground is not against the server rules.

Also anyone remember the days you could drop xfer coins??????
Yup. I think that even might have worked here once, but there was some issue with it (maybe technical, maybe players doing stupid stuff with dropped coins) that made the devs disable it. But it also might just be a Titanium issue which never worked.

And with two threads going on the same issue about the same pair of gloves, this is really the bottom line. Consensus is Cained didn't do anything to begin with, but even if he had...it's perfectly within the rules. There was something lying on the ground and somebody picked it up. Okie doke. Random item laying on ground = FFA, finders keepers and all that.

At best, the OP can /petition the devs to give him a do-over on being dumb with a pretty decent item. IMHO, whoever did pick up those gloves should be allowed to keep them, and the devs can wish a new pair into existence for the goof who INTENTIONALLY dropped them on the ground. Or......

@poofph - go ALS style and actually kill any of the dragons that drop said gloves and win the roll! 4 dragons in Norrath give those gloves away for free, sometimes. All you gotta do is kill them to see if they have a pair laying around. Think of the fun!

According to Lazy they let them rot 90% of the time, considering they are not lore that does not make sense to me.

People there either have enough money that they could care less about the gloves or they hate EC camping and all their toons have equal or better.

Or it could be a dkp system that requires a bid to loot an item, otherwise item is mandated to rot?

I dunno how these guys roll.
