For EverQuest my biggest suggestion is pick a class based on your play style not on emotion or it's theme.

Unlike newer MMO's EverQuest doesn't give a crap about classes being well rounded or balanced. This isn't to say that some classes are trash and don't have a place, but depending on your goals or playstyle some classes might as well be trash to you

It's good advice. While you'll always be welcome to groups as a cleric, enchanter or bard... they're 3 very different classes and as a former cleric I know I burnt out before I hit 60 - just struggle to enjoy grouping for hours staring at health bars and my mana bar while sitting down [You must be logged in to view images.
