![]() Tuesday ill be getting my internet hooked up at my new house FINALLY (screw you windstream) and I will be installing everquest again and joining you folks on p1999. Before I create my first character I do have a few questions.
What's the current status of the low end of the game? Am I going to find myself standing around for hours alone in the 1-50 zones or are there still plenty of new folks out there like myself? Id really like to start with an Iksar or Ogre Shadowknight but being forced to solo to 60 is not desireable and id rather not level a necro/mage solely for twinking purposes as that would remove the challenge I had 10 years ago. What's the economy like? I plan on doing my research and grouping where good tank gear drops but at the same time id like to be able to purchase an upgrade ever so often. Are there any guilds out there that accept new players? As a newbie tank walking around in bronze armor and a rusty 2 hander am I going to be rendered completely useless by supertwinks? I haven't played this game in years and I've never played a tank. Am I completely out of my mind by wanting to make a Iksar SK for my first character?[You must be logged in to view images. You should be fine just playing the game as is, I wouldn't worry about feeling the need to twink anybody. As long as your learn how to play what you play your not going to be shunned out of (most) groups. You never know I guess. People might be more inclined to not like you for being an Iksar SK, since you drain some of their EXP. Just play what you like and enjoy it, I dont see anything stopping you. To answer your last question: No, you are a man.

![]() ^^ what bizzum said.
Plus, there are several guilds that are lowbie friendly. the high end guilds are a mess atm. But not for you to worry about atm. there are alwasy peopel leveling alts, and becaue this is a no boxing server everyone needs groups. It isn't that hard to join a group that is mostly guild based. Dive right in. and welcome

![]() Welcome to the server!
With what the others have said so far, you'll be fine as an iksar SK, as there is alot of people rolling Iksar alts currently So there should be plenty of people around to group with

![]() I just joined a guild that seems newbie friendly for a starter especially... look up Disciples of the Gods in game.
Also, I think as a tank you have a really good shot of getting a group from 1-20+. As a shaman, most groups did NOT happen for me because there was no tank. More often than not, also, we had ranger tanks.

![]() Thanks for the welcome and the input.
I will definitely be playing the Iksar SK as the main. Now I have an entire day to sit around and wait for my terrible internet company to come hook me up. Any gear suggestions or important quests I should take a look at? Or a decent website to do some research on? Id really like to find a good 2 hander to save up for.

![]() As an iksar you're definitely in the right place at the right time.
It saddens me a bit that with Kunark it was inevitable that some of the traditional levelling spots have quietened down, but its a good expansion and perhaps worth the sacrifice [You must be logged in to view images. More than that, a friend of mine got told to move from the wall because of some PL action, not invited to join... just told to get out of the way. How nice [You must be logged in to view images. I can't speak for Blackburrow or anything around the Qeynos area though, might be busy [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

If your friend wants to join some action, tell him to send me a tell ingame and I'll happily relocate him to the Commonlands (and bind him in Freeport), there is still some newbie groups going on there. Nagash/Petitpas

![]() Now's actually a pretty good time to be a lowbie, with Kunark just being released. Lots of twinks running around makes for fast exp, and players are dumping old-world gear at bargain-basement prices means you get geared faster.
I happened to be running through EC coming back from training my Ranger in Kithicor and saw an /ooc 'Free Short Sword of the Ykesha to the first newbie who can use it'. Lotta cheap/free gear out there. PM me tonight, I'll have a weapon for you to ease the pain of getting started.
