Greater Skeletons are PH's for the Gargoyles. The island like most the rest of the zone is a 6 min spawn timer. The skeletons and gargs are kos to each other so when they meet the gargs always win and you can end up with an island full of gargs if noone has been in a while, or island full or skeletons if your clearing it all.
Noticed that the named sisters on sister isle and the dwarves there seem to be a 23 min spawn and they were 6 min like the rest of the zone in classic if i recall correctly.
