A lot of it has to do with the Trade Deficits between Antonica and Kunark, Kunark is producing a lot more raw goods then Antonica. While there is more money flowing and valuable goods in Antonica overall, it is largely subsisting off of imports. It would in theory add inflation to the PP, which in some cases it would, but according to the CPI (Consumer Price Index), the overall cost of goods and services is seeing a deflation. Many think this is because of the way the PP is rigged, and confidence is high for consumer goods and services.

The real problem is that back around late 2000 the labor which kept Antonica financially stable and producing raw goods for the East Commonlands was essentially outsourced to Kunark. The EC market traders realized they could get not only a higher price for goods out of Kunark, but for half the cost. Why pay someone from Antonica to travel BOTH ways to sell back in EC, when they could just get an Iksar to farm the goods and it would only cost half the price since they only need to go from Kunark to Antonica, not back and forth ?

Of course while things APPEAR to be better in Antonica for the PP and price of goods and services, it's all smoke and mirrors and it's only a matter of time until the confidence falls and Gold takes the reins as the historical and practical means of holding your wealth.

In short, BUY GOLD NOW !
