The Ice Wurms can be snared, but the rate is like 1/25 or so casts from my experience. I used EoT turning off taunt, using lowest level snare + disease cloud constantly for agro while in Demi lich, and whenever snare lands or I had extra Mana I'd deflux for more damage and the needed heals.
Best I could do was like 25min or so per ice wurm if I didn't have to go too far out of my way to dodge roamers. I also casted 10 or so spells between DC/snare before sending pet in. Hope that helps.
