Consider the following: ToonTown Rewritten, a 14-year-old cartoon simulator for small children and adults with autism released around the same time as EQ's 5th and 6th expansion has 6000 peak concurrent individual users.

P99 has 1500 online CCU, P2002/TAKP both have about 50 actual players each and that's not counting the plethora of other servers on the list that allow 18-boxing because there's no one playing this game.

EQ is a dying breed and it's fun to poke at the state of the game.

I don't have any intentions of making another EQEmulator server if that's what you are getting at. I would like to make an MMORPG at some point as a backup plan, but right now I am comfortable at my current job.
