Maybe she just trying to say lead by example? If you declare a day off for FTEs may lead others to make a few healthier life choices for that one day a week.

Hardly see how suggesting everyone step away from the grind for a day makes everyone dumber?

Because if thats what they wanted to do they would:

A. Do it because no one says they cant and;
B. Be in your guild

Perhaps they do want to step away for a day but the pixel lust is clouding their better judgment? Maybe a day off will let them recharge their batteries, doesn't have to be in a Vulak window or anything.

I don't pretend to know the inner workings of a high end raid guild, but it sounds like people get burnout and quit, then new hungry mouths take their place and the cycle repeats.

A day off doesn't need to be the solution but a suggestion, seems like Rustle has a window cutoff for tracking / FTEs that help folks relax, so maybe something similar. Maybe your guild already has some kind of 'step away from the keyboard' policy in place at times, would like to hear it if so.

I'm just trying to talk and discuss on the forum, no need to get angry / cynical.

Not sure how many times i van say this...if anyone wants to step away for a day, a week a month or forever no one stops them. They do it if they want they dont if they dont.

Pretty simple

I get that, but isn't burn out and high-end addiction a thing? Like, people answering every single batphone in the middle of the night because they want to keep building their DKP pool, if they don't get to this raid others will and then they will fall further behind. I know not everyone is like that, but I've seen a lot of 'keeping up with the jones' mentality, even in AG members.

I don't see how a mandatory break from tracking / racing / raiding is such a bad thing, I think it can make guilds stronger in the long run personally. Can be only a few times a month even when only some select crummy mobs are in window.

We have taken several mandatory breaks from raiding this year.
