What connection does Venril have with Raster?

i figure he was included because his name rhyms with "caster", and provides a link to a mob in lower guk.

All interesting suggestions. I included Raster because it rhymes with caster and, unlike the correct answer, Raster doesn't have anything to do with any caster epic quest.
