The chances of Pantheon surviving more than a year after release are slim to none. And thats assuming it will ever make release in the first place... and even if it does it will not meet the super high expectations for a MMO that WoW has set and will get sh!t on. 3 years later when its patched into something resembling what people hoped it would be on launch, it will be too late and have P99 type population.

Not true at all.

The whole thing that made EQ different and appealing is that there was so much to do and obtain and those things were challenging and rewarding for different reasons. If they successfully emulate that environment and create a game that's hard, takes time and relies heavily on cooperative play, it will be popular for a long time.

There are millions of disillusioned, estranged former first gen mmo players out there waiting for such a game that they can become engrossed in for years.

Really, the only thing that could fuck it up is if they launch in a bad state with a lack of content and second rate visuals. Even if the average player's standard for gameplay has gone down over the years, the graphic requirement has gone way up. Sure, the eq emu crowd won't care, but if they hope to draw a decent playerbase, graphics are important.

The only reason we put up with that shit in 1999 was because we were ignorant fucks. Ain't nobody got no time for that.

Ya, absolutely nothing has changed since 99. Just because you and i don't have time for that shit dont mean we can't enjoy it while the people who were our age back then can't become the masters of the universe.

this whole, cuz i don't have the time it, it wouldn't work shit is unsupported by reality and selfish
