Uh, mobs definitely would cast around corners, at least during Kunark. I remember soloing my shackle for my monk in dalnir in the low 40s with all those casters, and trying to pull them out of rooms still got me hit by spells quite a bit while out of LOS.

It is classic and working properly....
This is how it always used to work on live - things would start casting as soon as they get line of sight, and they'd finish casting unless you ran out of range (regardless of line of sight). You now have to be quick and avoid LoS right off the bat.
