Eunomia once saved an RP event of mine from abacab. I petitioned and she was there within ten mins. God. Bless.

abacab once teleported to a cliff and ran a scan on me, he informed me that I was bound to the location I was sitting in, and then disappeared after laughing.

This was in dreadlands.

That sounds like u met a real life wizard.

I got a lot of respect for abacab. Hacking eq is retarded, but he was true to himself. Never gave in or backed down. Like a crime lord who you are happy is dead but feel respect for his commitment.

Live by the sword die by the sword.

Most recently I have had a couple interactions with Llandris, and he might not be the most talkative or outwardly friendly guide I ever chatted with but he was focused and gave very detailed answers and spent a lot of time trying to make sure he answered me fully so I understood the problem.

I think that's perfectly fine and I felt that from my interaction with him he probably is a hardworker with tons of stuff on his plate, which makes a person less chatty and more direct and willing to work through the problem and find a solution quickly. He was professional and helped me solve my problems both times.

What more could I expect or want? So in my book, Llandris is great. I don't need jokes and chatter when I am trying to solve a problem and I respected and appreciated the fact he was very quick to answer both petitions.

A+ for Llandris.

Red face

I think Llandris would be a good Braknar if they let Llandris take over the bloomin onion trade enforcement.

Maybe too good *X-Files music*

I feel he's tempered enough to do the job without over-banning or kneejerking.

In contrast, if Sickcucksky was offered any in-game role I'd have quit the project. Hot hands don't make for good CSR. The "I'm gonna make a big impact" type of guides always do more harm than good then go out in a fireball.

Look at any GM or Guide who has been vocal about making a big impact. Uthgard, Deru, Sickcucksky, He-Who-Shant-Be-Named, all went out in a fireball. All of them had the "Crusader" complex. The I'm-going-to-do-real-big-things complex. The white-knight complex run wild. Living long enough to see themselves become the villain, because that's where these vocal crusaders end up.

Bad bad bad.

Completely unrelated: I noticed a lot of the guides that visited red would treat people poorly. One time a 2 years back I was being bind camped and the guide told me it was my problem despite it being against the PNP and I had called LNS and was still being prevented from getting my corpse in the ocean.

There was definitely some misplaced contempt there, possibly even a tad bias towards PvP itself, it was a really sour experience.

Don't staff red if you don't want to listen or understand the rules. And they don't, and red has never been happier...right....?.....right....?

A good post ((((again)))) by AzzarTheGod. Your name is logged in my phones smart keyboard BTW.

It really must take a special sort of person to weather the storm. A mixture of the crusader archetype with also the thug, imo.

I was thinking about this while watching the first season of Daredevil. DD is crusader archetype, like the guides you mentioned. He will never kill anyone, and this principle holds him back, eats him up, and also protects him.

On the contrary (spoiler alert), when his corn fed, blonde secretary is at the mercy of the evil underling cuck (lieutenant of main villain), she has no hesitation when it comes to grabbing the gun and capping his ass.

Glossing over the excellent story structure as more impactful characters resolve their battles to create a system of progressive unlocking/buildup of story state that feeds the psychosphere of the audience and the story world to release a truly cathartic moment of heroic action and thus salvation for all mankind, we can see that a guy like Daredevil (he who must not be named) is doomed by nature to ultimately fall into damnation. When that start so strong they become brittle and snap under the weight of our grimy reality.

Basically you need a person who fights for good, but is capable of putting JUST THE TIP into the dark world of the Enemy.

Hope this helps in future recruitment.
