So your trying Monitor Laptop Monitor. You can only go out of one or the other. I have never seen a VGA and HDMI on the same latop but regardless you wont get both options.
What you can do is VGA and a USB to VGA Adapter. or if your looking for quality you could do a HDMI to a TripleHead2Go adapter and you will be set. It really just depends on what you want to spend. | ||

That's right, mistake in OP. I have been using vga OR HDMI + a USB adapter.
The issue I keep having is that I can figure out how to manipulate the settings so that the two externals are the primary and secondary displays. | ||
