This varies a great deal based on where you live. Those stats are probably still off, but there are areas in the east and mid west that are predominantly white. I still read about people who lived in areas where there were virtually no black people at all.

I live in Utah. It's probably 90% white people, 9.5% Hispanic, and less than .5% other ethnicities.
