Yeah it's bogged down by socialism and corporatism. Then things like TPP etc are anti-capitalist at their core (over 2/3 of it doesn't even have anything to do with trade).
As for democracy, we really wouldn't want that. Sure there is truth in that on the surface, we cant have them both, but especially democracy with or without capitalism. This is why we have a Constitutional Republic, which does work. Democracy is often found more on the state level, but as a tool to service our republics as the need arises. But even at state level, these too are formed as Constitutional Republics with their own State Constitutions and Assemblies. Democracy is three wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner.
