Tune played a huge role in the PnP, as did HB, but I personally know the exact catalyst for LNS. There was actually a major incident. I'll share a little piece of box history.

The straw that broke the camels back:

I can't tell the full story, or at least the full details as I don't want staff to make an association with anything. Names and identities will be protected.

Nobody got "griefed" exactly, it was over Mistmoore twink PvP where the killer got killed and betrayed in dramatic fashion, OOC exploded, and then the pk had a psychotic break, completely melting down after OOC ridicule and the weight of the betrayal combined with OOC just got him at the wrong time. The pk used some drastic measures to recover his corpse and butcher all 4 killers in sweet non-classic revenge.

Derubael showed up, OOC went berserk. #froze the pk after a zone chase, pk unfroze himself, continued to barrel ass away from him as OOC screamed louder, "GET HIM!!!"

Derubael fired off a second command that he probably remembered only in the heat of the moment to completely lockout the pks client and keyboard/mouse responsiveness way over in Antonica, and the pk had finally been bested.

No idea what this command is, but its definitely custom. He sat the pk down, and asked "why the pk was doing this to himself?" The pk had a long, spiteful conversation about the rules of the server, compared it to VZTZ and how none of this would have happened. And how red99 was closer to Sullon Zek which nobody liked.

The conversation exploded into OOC mid-way through, Derubael was now in OOC, the super frozen PK was in OOC, along with 25+ people now screaming in OOC. The pks last words were in all caps spamming "YOU HAVE NO LNS POLICY, YOU CAUSED THIS YOU MADE ME DO IT". Again 20 or so people exploded, some cheering, some jeering, some knew what was going on from Mistmoore, some just making loud noises.

This was new, this was unexpected. Derubael was taken aback. I can only imagine he must have gasped aloud. The PK was personally holding Derubael accountable for the crimes he was being accused of.

Derubael went silent. He had been intellectually checkmated, and he felt bad. Yellow text went off as OOC scrolled by from the onlookers and jeerers. The screen went black.

2 weeks later LNS was introduced to Red99. The PK smiled somberly to himself and winked.

The end.

Losing coin in PVP is fine though. And I know 3k doesn't sound like much but there's a threshold between good and evil despite being a gradient overall. So the importance of that choice goes beyond the game.

shrug its the history of LNS and how it came about. Tune had nothing to do with it.
