Well I'm all about a good Tempest trashing in Summer '16, buuut... Empire had a plat system as well that benefited everyone, myself included.
You could gear alts with MQs, no rules, and guild was given a DISCOUNT on the item. The only scandal I see here is if there is no discount for guild, or examples of selective discounts to core members and officer dick suckers like Speeddsz, while rank n file pays full price. I'm doubting Cyren is the sole manager and benefactor of this system without any oversight but I'm launching my own parallel investigation to Duckman's out of concern.
