This is an information issue not game difficulty. I fear of sounding like Nemce, MMORPG is a game genre. A genre that is inherent to game mechanics not player ability. First person shooters, puzzle games, and pure strategy games pose more difficulty than most mechanics in Everquest. Sorry but Classic Everquest by no means is a difficult game circa late 90's.
Lack of information contributes significantly to game difficulty. The stock market and poker would both be trivial for anyone who possesses all of the information. There's a reason why baseball pitchers try to vary their pitches, because they are easier to hit when the batter knows what's coming. Any NFL team would be at a serious advantage if they were told what to expect from their opponents for every single play.

It's funny that you mention first person shooters, pure strategy games and puzzles, because they are challenging for the fact that you don't have all of the information. A player with a knowledge of the game mechanics, yet are otherwise unskilled who could spy on their opponent's screen would dominate, regardless of the skill disparity for such games. You can try this for yourself at a lan party, place your monitor so that a weaker opponent can see it and see how you fair.

In particular with EverQuest, if you don't know how to spawn Quillmane, the camp becomes significantly more difficult as you try a thousand different theories, whether yours or others on how to get the dumb horse to appear. That's just one example off the top of my head. How many years were people making things more difficult because they believed there was an anti-camp radius, or other such anecdotes going around?

Get over you socialistic tendencies.
so·cial·ism
ˈsōSHəˌlizəm/Submit
noun
a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

My ideas are not socialistic in nature at all. I am advocating for a division of (if this was economy) fair trade.

A diversified capitalism, if you will.

You have a branch of corporate america that compete with their billions (excessive man hours) through marketing (their posted kills each week) and thrive in a competing market system (providing dkp stimulus packages for new members and a promise of x amount of pixels for your invested time to counter the competitor's offer.) The privately owned businesses operate under different legal practices (less strict rules regarding raiding attendance) and are in a different tax bracket (less time invested per kill) at the cost of their significantly less net profit at the end of the day (less pixels).

I suggested a competative raid scene for the hard cores that would operate under their spectrum of raiding (cross wing pulls, insta FTEs, Cothing) and a division of competative raiding for the casuals (foot races, FIF rules, no leapfrogging, etc).

I don't dictate your competition and you don't dictate my competition. Completely laissez faire for each division. The polar opposite of socialism.

The point is you have a snow ball chance in hell of getting an FTE on a target AM or Awakened are gunning for. Casuals greatest chance of competiing with hardcore raid guilds was Coth. It was the great equaliser.
Let me know when CSG win an FTE on Doze , Vulak , KT , Eashan or any mob past Aary when theres no 1 hour lock out in place . You fucked yourselves GG

I like Anon no problems with them but you do realize what actually happened right? The guy that won the race for Anon is one of my closest friends that I've been gaming with on and off for like 10 years. Gimp had him by a mile and he got FTE cause he turned the corner and shot his bow and by sheer luck it proc'd and instantly FTE'd instead of waiting for flight time of the arrow. Gimp would've 100% gotten that FTE had Louu's bow not proc'd when it did. Let's also not forget that was 1 race out of probably hundreds since the footraces started. How many has CSG won since they started? I'm guessing less than 10? Not sure what you're getting at but I don't think you're convincing anybody that footraces are good or that raiding outside A/A on P99 is fun.
