the raid schene is very competative. multiple people competing for the same mob but only one team will be victorious and will achieve the rewards with the victory. the competition keeps some people such as my self to continue raiding. It is also nice to be able to have one very powerful character to go back to trivial zones to farm for alts or just for fun.
