I love you Turp. And I did mention your OP. I just disagree that shorter variance is a good thing. Like I said earlier this morning, it makes more people opt in. Good raiding conditions happen when more people opt out. We were in TMO during long variance and it was pretty damn chill. I think now that more guilds are wiling to track at all, unlike back then, long variance will seriously relax camping dargons simply because you can't have an intense force of 15 people sitting at a zone in for a week. It's retarded.

Now we have been lawless here before. And I'd rather have it lawless Eshan. But haha they will never remove most those rules ever. (the casuals especially , i am sure they are scarred) They would cry up a storm so damn fast and anyone who knows the history of p99 can confirm this.

Oh I absolutely plan on trying it out. No experience with DAoC whatsoever and apparently Nightshades are a horrible beginner's char, but I'm looking forward to a challenge. Magic user / assassin is what I played in L2, and I really miss 1 shotting casters. Would be super fun to have you along ganking people with me.

Fuck it....full variance. You could have Vulak respawn right on top of you right after death, or have to track him for 13 days. Throw in some earthquakes now and then. It might sound shitty, but every raid mob will always be in window.

Most the stealthers back in DAOC days were using buff bots (second account dedicated entirely to stat buffs, which had no expiration timer as long as you were in same zone as the buffer) to be strong enough to 1 shot casters who weren't sitting (or under level, like sub-50), so it would be interesting to see how it goes if Uthgaard doesn't allow boxing.
