Right now, <Tempest> is poking around in Velious and having some PvE fun, and occasionally some of the Aimchat crew (many of them tagged <Thunderdome>, I guess as a joke?) are popping in to block and harass. Other than that, there doesn't seem to be much PvP.

I think this server has gone through ups and downs before. I've heard tales of a time when 30 players farmed classic/Kunark years ago, but then a challenger guild arose and everything changed. I wonder if a similar revitalization can happen again, or if the population of EQ PvP players is ready for a new server.

What about leaving this Red99 up and starting a new one in parallel? Or would that require too much of an investment from the volunteer staff? I guess splitting up the population would be a problem, but I think the new server would gradually gain more legitimacy if there was meaningful competition there.
