I can't find enough places uncamped to gain some exp as is, I'm ok with them being on another server until after Kunark at least.

Yea, he even clarifies that linking to p1999 wikis and such are ok, and mentioning it is fine. You can't link directly to it or other emulator sites. Its just to keep on good terms with soe so he can be affiliated probably or something.

I'd really like to like it, but as has been said, it's in no way a classic experience. The new UI is awful IMO as well, though I know you can mod it. But you can't get the old Velious UI feel, or even very close to it. It requires setting everything up all over again, for an experience that is profoundly different to the one you are trying to recapture.

It's good they have done it, but p1999 is by far the better "return" experience. I'd be more likely to return to my 85 Bard on live than restart on the progression server with all the fundamental changes to the game that they can't wind back.
