The fact is he is at a severe disadvantage as to where it may come to attacks by Clinton or Sanders in a general election as "But whether a person born abroad of American parents, or of one American and one alien parent, qualifies as natural born has never been resolved. link". This could very possible be a complete disaster for Cruz if they in fact decide to challenge the legitimacy of Ted's elegibility to run for a high office. This far more than some single uneducated response to an issue which has been no talking point in a campaign.
