Given the general labor categories (unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, and highly skilled), you may want to consider voting for someone who will prioritize education and make it accessible. What you'll find is many countries outside of the U.S. do this and it provides a solid foundation to economic growth.

If you still don't believe me, take a look at the education levels and gross national income of some of the poorest nations in the world. Conversely, look at South Korea and Singapore as solid examples of nations who completely reversed their country's economic conditions by prioritizing education. Although the later two countries did assume protectionist policies to safeguard their infant manufacturing sectors, these barriers were later removed and both countries engage in free trade practices.
