This is not a bug.

All armor tints go off your race's Thurgadin set as its base.

So, for example, the Kael Paladin quest armor is supposed to be the following bright blue.

[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

The above color will blend with whatever color your race's Thurgadin armor set is. For that reason, the Paladin Kael armor set appears correctly on Humans because their base Thurgadin set is white.

[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

But take the same armor on a High Elf Paladin and the armor is green. That is because the bright blue color is getting blended with gold.

[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Note that the helmet is bright blue, even though the rest of the armor is green.

That is because the Thurgadin base helmet slot isn't gold, it's white.

Green Armor = Gold + Bright Blue

Bright Blue Helmet = White + Bright Blue

Because of this, your helmet slot may appear a different color than your armor.

I hope this makes sense.

Not sure how this helps my case...

BUT... it does appear the Custom Crown of the Myrmidon does have a tint.

Left is Myrmidon, right is Champion:

It appears to be a case of lighting. In some lighting (mostly dark) the Myrmidon helm matches very well while in other lighting it's more silverish than the other Myrmidon armor pieces. /shrug

Not sure if working as intended...

Sorry, fashionquest is a big deal to me! Thanks!

Thanks for your post! Makes sense... but I'm still disappointed. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

The base woof elf Thurg set is white yet it doesn't appear correctly?

To clarify, I didn't test your specific situation but just wanted to explain why in many cases your helmet may not match the rest of your armor set.

For the female Wood Elf, their base Thurgadin armor does seem to be completely white.

I don't see why the Skyshrine or Kael tints should not be uniform in color, with matching helmets.

Not sure what the issue is on the first post. The other posts appear to show tint? That is incorrect.

Custom-look helms should not be the same tint as the rest of the armor set.
I believe this is correct. Custom helms didn't change colors with different sets of armor.

As posted above, for example, the high elf 'cat hat' wasn't anything but white iirc.

Could use some more discussion and screenshots.

To me this is the most convincing screenshot: https://web.archive.org/web/20011206...leepercrew.jpg

This is KTF's entire guild, and every one of the 10 custom helms is the base color. It's hard to imagine that with 10 crowns there at least one of them wouldn't have the armor color. Verdict: all custom crowns should have the same tint (nothing), and +1 Classic Quest points to Elethia.

Also I got a good chuckle out of KTF waking the sleeper on Prexus a mere 1 year into Velious, and apparently main monks still needed those shrouds! And they have a dwarf warrior with two SoDs! I'd say our server is pretty classic [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

My Custom Templar's Helm is definitely as Purple as my BP and arms, much like the dwarf in Raev's screenshot. WTB white hat!

Pending update:

Corrected Warrior, Cleric, Paladin, SK, and Bard custom helm color. They will appear as they do in the classic screenshots.
