Didn't read the whole thread but in essence the fans expect more ff7 and Square hasn't got the ability or creativity on their staff to do it.

Bad storylines and characters are now guaranteed, and the gameplay / battle systems are looking tired.

FF died at 10 for me, after a terrible 9 and a shaky 8.

i agree with this except after giving 8 another go a year after it came out, i actually thought it was better than 7. the 2 gardens colliding was epic as hell.

8 sucked. Junction/draw system was the dumbest system ever, of all time.

Gardens colliding was the only time it actually felt like a game since at that point you were done spending 30 hours drawing the magic you were never going to cast out of monsters.
