Street prostitutes would charge a flat fee to black patrons, who usually had lower incomes and could pay less, but would leave the amount up to their white patrons. The whites would overpay on average. In terms of economics, they were price discriminating to the whites in order to extract more producer surplus. Sounds sexy, huh?
