This would destabilize the 2-party system in about 2-3 election cycles, as revealing the total # of popular votes (I.E. how badly you got smoked) will lead to people abandoning their successive 15-85 and 20-80 losing party to go create a new one.

Even if I am for direct democracy, I can still recognize the benefits of the EC in the stability of the matrix.

Fact is we don't know everything that would happen if we switched to a direct democracy. I just know it would bring many new challenges and that is why da massa will never give us one. Plebs unworthy.

Man is incapable of moral governance. Inevitably the principles upon which any government is founded, not matter how noble, cannot suffer the indubitable erosion wrought of illiteracy, senility and the indelible passage of time.
