Lyyfeleech I'm disappointed to see you've joined the ranks of the anons. Just messin'. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

But seriously, can we revisit this issue? In classic you could /who all zone. It used to work on this server. Is there a reason it was taken out? Was it to accommodate raid guilds that don't want others to know where they're at?

It's one of the most annoying things implemented currently and the absolute most nonsensical.

I don't think so?

Interview from april 13th, 2000.

>>>A kind of "/who all zone" command, that would either list, or at least give a count of the players in a specific zone (without one being in that zone). In an overcrowded environment, it would save casual players a great deal of time if they could look to find a less-used zone to hunt in without having to travel to it first.

We're still looking into the possibility of this. We like the idea and think it would enhance gameplay for those that choose to find greener pastures.
I don't remember them ever fixing it, at least when I played. Could be wrong.

Hmmm, looks like I stand corrected then. But still, I'll plead for you to put it back in. With the increased server population there are fewer and fewer spots to get exp. Over 500 on last night and I had to run across 7 zones looking for open camps. *sad face*

/who all "zone"
3 people, non anon

/tell persona "Excuse me, I'm considering moving to "zone"; could you tell me how many people are in the zone please?"

/reply "There are 40 people in this zone."

/tell persona "Thank you. I guess I won't come, then."

Not a surefire way, but it gives you a better idea.

Roleplay and anon always hid what zone you were in. It was a key element of being in a raiding guild. If we wanted to know where a competing guild was, we didn't /who all temple, /who all kael, etc. We had to send scouts to various zones.

Allowing people to see roleplay people by /who all-ing a zone would cripple raiding guild competition. If the top guild can see where other guilds are at all times, experience and faster mobilization allows them to use other guilds' scouts/trackers to find raid targets and steamroll them. The ability to truly hide your location is a key strategy for lower tier raid guilds.

Right now only around 1/4th of the players are /anon and its already pretty bad with you having to run to the actual zone to see if the camp is taken. Everyone who is ok with this imagine this scenario. If tomorrow everyone went /anon and ignored all CCs it would ruin the server. Now you have to run to a zone and clear to the actual mob to see if the camp is free. Lets take it one step further and everyone just hides and makes themselves invisible until 10 seconds before the mob they are camping spawns. Now you have to run to the zone clear to the mob and wait for it to spawn to see if its camped.

Have fun spending 2 or 3 hours to find a camp. I know it already takes me about half an hour and 2 or 3 teleports to find something for me to kill during peak hours and I am a druid.

I think it's fine. Suck it up. If you think it eats up too much time because you're a super casual player, then maybe you shouldn't be worrying about camps until the weekend.. or shouldn't be playing EQ at all.
