just get groups as a cleric and loot as many gems as possible. most people don't care anyway.

I can't imagine this would get me enough platinum to afford something like a Velium Blue Diamond Bracelet or any other pieces of higher end jewelry, let alone some of the better MR gear.

Buy the gem with the plat you farm and give it to me, happy to combine it for you. Don't pay retail for one.
