The spell effect from the instaclick doesn't even need to take effect to reset the cooldown timer, so for example using jboots when you already have SoW will not overwrite SoW but it will reset your global spell cooldown, as long as you are outdoors. Global Cooldown Trick
The first spell slot acts differently then other spell slots. If you memorize Canni 3 to your first spell slot, and give just a half moment pause, it is possible to cast Canni 3 twice inbetween server ticks, using the Global Cool Down insta click reset thing. No need for another spell slot, or canni 2.

The Rez Trick
I'm not sure why, among all the cool tricks on the server, this isn't more well known. It's very easy:

1: Be in the same zone as corpse.
2: Tap /corpse and DO NOT MOVE. You must remain at the exact same /loc as your corpse.
3: Have Rez cast on the corpse.
4: Wait until the "Yes/No" box appears. Begin casting a spell. Accept the rez mid spell cast.
5: You always channel this spell, as long as you and the corpse are the same /loc when you accept the rez.

This allows Clerics to Heroism (or whatever) their group after a wipe, themselves included. Enchanters can group Clarity, Druids can Mask themselves, Shamans can Torpor, Wizards can Harvest etc.
For almost any class that can cast a pet, I suggest the pet be your spell of choice, in part because....

Pet Reclaim
Any class can use the 4 magician items from Temple of Solusek Ro to reclaim a pet. Great for rolling the highest level pet, reclaiming mana after a rez, reclaiming a pet for emergency mana.

Pet Powerleveling
A pet that dies or is reclaimed has its damage assigned to no one, much the same as feign death or damage shields.

The Rez trick works in between zonings on self buffs if you time it right.

Enchanters can Clarity, Druids can SoW/Mask ( even if getting rezzed into an indoor zone), etc.

Just get a Rez box, cast the spell on yourself and with a sliver of cast time left accept the Rez box.

Was used quite often during classic to SoW indoors after a Rez $$$.

That you can make over 1k before lvl 20 just by doing low lvl quests. Also realized that many of these quests give you a significant amount of experience for a lot longer than I thought they did.

It was stated before, but while leveling pottery for Velious, I learned that shift-clicking a stack of items will yield one of that item on your cursor.

I didn't realize this until pottery 80. My level 60 warrior has a fletching skill of 200. Rest in peaces

I learned what the term "poopsock" means. I've played MMOs since I was 12, when UO was released... and have never seen the word before until venturing these forums as of recent.

The definitions are pretty funny, and I had no idea it pertained to EQ players mainly, or first at least.
