Just start it with pre-nerf manastones and thex daggars and such already removed. Problem solved. Sometimes gameplay takes precedence over accuracy.

I agree that legacy items shouldn't drop on the new server, but I think making it a progression server is the best idea. Otherwise, it will just be a flat-out better version of the original server (less baggage).

^^ This. Especially with their notion of rolling the chars developed there into current blue at end of timeline.
