TMO is on Red now. It would be Rampage RMTquesting.

And I pray to god they take every single Velious mob and leave you casuals with scraps
And its people like you that make people not want to play on red.

It will be a Cluster F..k and you know it. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] All the top zones will be perma camped for months and will be a pissing contest on the Forums like it has always has.

Like all the dirt bags that have be chomping at the bit for the last month are just going to turn into Saints at the start. Yeah right. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Good luck even getting a few crumbs at the start.

Thats rather pessimistic. Granted there will be issues with some camps (holg beads come to mind) but i dont see the raid scene being so toxic in velious. The bs about kunark raiding was that it was so easy that kills came down to split second fte, petitionquest, and overall dickieness. The raid mechnics in velious change greatly and your main enemy isnt going to be who can fte first but if u and your guild can moblize and execute a kill. Since getting kills in velious doesnt come down to the actions of people in other guilds but the people in your own guild i dont see the same level of bs in velious.

I've watched some fights on beta. Some are using solid strategies and have what look like a few boxed clerics (which is fine cause beta, but not representative of what is possible on live).

Also I've seen some pillar tanking, which I'm not sure how the staff are going to handle it, as I'm not familiar with how it was handled on live. But essentially people are tanking dragons in locations where their DPS or their Tank are not viewable by a dragon, and therefore not getting hit by AEs... Yet they can still melee the dragon. I don't think they've gotten full z-axis pillar tanking exploit where the dragon stays static but cannot melee the tank, but there are definitely some spots you can melee a dragon, hold aggro, and still not be hit by the AE because geometry.

Exploiting geometry/hit box bug or clever raid tactic? That is to be determined by staff I thinks.

Also due to the server environment I think the pulls that will get done on live will be weird. Most guilds would just clear to a mob and kill it. On P99 though, clearing means someone can leapfrog you. So I fully expect large trains of mobs to get them out of the way and tagging dragons out of these trains. Somewhat similar to how VP is. But it will creep into zones where random non-raiders are inhabiting and may cause issues.

It will be interesting to say the least. I think sim repops during Velious will be the most fun because every guild will have a few good targets they can go for due to the increased number of them.

Not saying there wont be competition or that some guilds who can get kills wont be shut out. Just saying that the new mechanics will not create such a toxic raid scene. The current toxic raid scene is caused by the mechanics not the people per say. Seen the same thing on the prog server from 2011. During kunark on that server it was just a toxic wasteland with endless poopsocking, sk armies, every gimp guild going after ever raid mob, cheating, and just great animosity between the guilds. Once velious came out the pack of guilds really spread out. Competition for mobs was resolved by which guild could better moblize/execute. If you dont get a kill in velious its not because your fte'er was a split second behind but because u couldnt get the number to said zone fast enough, your ch chain got messed up, people not having right resists, or people from you own guild messing up. Mobs wont be killed with seconds of spawning. There is a big difference in getting 50 people to log on at 3 in the morning for 5 mins to blow up a mob compared to getting 50 people to log on at 3 in the morning for a 2 hour raid (prep, clear, kill, risk of a long CR) week in and week out.

It's going to be so much worse with multiple zergs swarming around trash capable of wiping raids. Blue will a train wreck and I don't think I want to play here in Velious.
