US Mens soccer is a joke compared to the REST OF THE WORLD.

Jurgen is trying to change that, and ruffling feathers along the way.

A few things need to change for the US to compete:
Better focus on Youth academy and youth training. Getting away from casual rec and leaving it to Middle school/highschool. Club soccer is the best option.

Personal peeve, it drives me nuts to hear youth coaches/refs at early stages:
"Keep your hands to yourself, no pushing..." This alone will only hinder a child when learning this sport. So much wrong there...


And social acceptance. Its growing, but we are light years behind everyone else.

I can't agree with you more. When I grew up I played soccer and I was told that all the time! Keep your hands to yourself. No pushing. No slide tackling!

WTF is that!? Because I was young, about 8 to 13 years old, I didn't argue at all. I would have to run laps if I did.

The reason men's soccer in the USA is bad is because there are so many other professional sports that pay better in America. The best athletes go where the money is. So, our soccer leagues get last pick.

that was dire england performance they deserved to lose. awful from the manager.

really annoyed at the way they played....complete lack of quality in last third, almost as bad as france were!
